Project type

[Creative direction / Strategic positioning / Graphic design / Digital design / Animation / UI / UX]

Description
The National Library of Scotland sought to publicly showcase its nationally significant Moving Image Archive for the first time in its history, opening access to thousands of films and documentaries capturing over a century of life across Scotland. The project focused on developing an intuitive and accessible digital experience that could present the archive as a shared national memory, connecting audiences of all ages through storytelling, discovery and interaction.

The creative direction centred around the idea of collective memory, shaping an experience designed to feel immersive, emotional and easy to navigate for both younger and older audiences alike. Housed within Kelvin Hall in Glasgow, the archive experience has received significant positive attention across Scotland, with feedback from the team highlighting how the project has helped connect people with the country’s cultural history across generations.
